Flowers and a card are always the best way to seal a Mother’s Day gift.

With Mother’s Day coming right around the corner, I know most of us are scrambling trying to find ideas of what to purchase as the perfect gift for your mom. Do not fear. I am here to provide you with the perfect inspo for Mother’s Day gift ideas.

  1. Candles

It might sound basic, but what kind of mom doesn’t love lighting her favorite candle after deep cleaning the entire house? In my personal opinion, I would stay away from Bath and Body Works. Instead, try Home Goods or Anthropologie. Anthropologie has the most adorable packaging on their candles, not to mention, they smell amazing. I would also recommend purchasing a scent that matches well with the spring or summer seasons. Citrus, lavender, and rose are always some of the best options.

These are just a few out of the hundreds of candles they have at Anthropologie. Although they may be on the more expensive side, all moms love the perfect scented candle.

  1. Personalized Jewelry

Yes, jewelry might also sound basic, but customized or personalized jewelry is even better. Gorjana and Bauble Bar (which was mentioned in my last article) sell pieces that are customizable. For example, you can purchase a necklace that says “Mom” or “Mama.” You can also buy an adorable charm bracelet with all of your sibling’s initials. Nordstrom also sells a brand known as the “Little Words Project” that has pieces made specifically for the Mother’s Day occasion.

  1. Gift Cards

If you are really running last minute on your Mother’s Day shopping, a gift card is the easiest way to go. Although it may not be as sentimental, purchasing a gift card is easy because it allows your mom to basically buy whatever she wants from that specific store. Other than buying a gift card from her favorite clothing store or restaurant, a place that sells home décor is perfect. Home Goods and Pottery Barn are perfect options. Another idea for a gift card could be to a nail salon, a spa, or even a place where she can get a massage. That way, she can have a day of relaxation.

  1. Activity Based Items

If your mom has a favorite hobby or activity, you can purchase something that would allow her to use it for something she loves doing. For example, if your mom loves gardening, get her some cute pots (you could even paint your own), or if she loves cooking or baking, get her some cute new oven mitts or even an adorable apron (which could also be another customized item). A few other ideas are prayer journals, books, or tote bags for when she’s running errands (you can find anything on Amazon).

You can find just about anything on Amazon including prayer journals, or any items your mom would enjoy in her free time.

  1. Boutique Shopping

If you really have no idea what to do for a Mother’s Day gift, head to a local boutique where you could find anything from cute clothing, to accessories, sandals, home décor, and any other dainty little items. A few recommendations I have would be Stich and Feather (Fullerton and Brea), Sunny Days (Orange), Morning Lavender (Tustin and Huntington Beach), and Laurenly (Orange). Although boutiques can be more on the expensive side, all moms deserve something beautiful.

If you don’t have the money to splurge on a gift, you can always write a sweet, little handmade card with cute decor on it, and maybe add a small bouquet of flowers, or even a nice sweet treat your mom loves. I hope this article provided you with some sort of inspiration, and that your Mother’s Day is special for your family, and most importantly, your mom.
