With October just around the corner, spooky season is quickly approaching. Halloween season means watching Halloween movies, baking pumpkin treats, carving pumpkins, going to pumpkin patches, and even picking out Halloween costumes. Here are a few fun ways I love to get into the Halloween spirit:
First off, baking is a must. I love to bake during the fall since there are so many fun fall recipes. My personal favorite thing to bake in the fall is chocolate chip pumpkin bread. It is so good and really easy to make; it only takes 10-15 minutes to make the batter for the bread, and the baking takes an hour and 10 minutes to bake. It is definitely worth the wait!
Another fun activity to get into the true spooky season spirit is watching Halloween movies. Senior Valeria Avila says, “I love watching Halloween movies in October. My favorite Halloween movies are ‘Monsters, Inc.’ and ‘Hotel Transylvania.’” Senior Siena Bran also shares her favorite movies: “I highly recommend that you watch ‘Halloweentown’ and ‘Nightmare before Christmas.’ I love these movies so much!”
My last recommendation would be to go visit a pumpkin patch. They are usually so much fun to go to because there are often mazes and a bunch of different great activities to do there. You can also pick out a cute pumpkin to carve at home!
If you like the feeling of being scared, there are also a number of fun places to go to really get spooked. You can go to Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park. They have scary mazes and lots of roller coasters as well. There is also Universal Studios Horror Nights in Universal City by Hollywood. Both are great options if you love being scared.
I hope these tips help you get into the Halloween spirit and excite you for the season to come!
