Hey Royals!

There’s less than a month left of school for seniors which means graduation is right around the corner. Part of the preparations include finding the perfect white dress for the graduation ceremony. Finding a white dress may seem like any simple task, but I guarantee you it is a STRUGGLE.

While there is still a little time for some seniors to find their dresses, it has become an urgent matter for many. Some graduating Royals, aka me, have purchased so many white dresses out of desperation but cannot seem to pick the perfect one.

Graduation is such an important ceremony I have worked so hard toward for the past four years, and I feel everything must be perfect— including my dress. I recently purchased two dresses from Nordstrom as my final contestants, but in all honesty, I absolutely despise them. Something about them seems so frumpy and perhaps a little too casual.

Trust me, I’ve checked everywhere: TJMaxx, Depop, online stores like Lucy in the Sky and Oh Polly, and even random stores at the mall that I’ve never even walked into before have all been a bust. It seems like none of the dresses seem to fit my standards. My last resort is the LA fashion district, where I’m hopeful I will find SOMETHING by the end of the weekend. If I fail, I’m forced to settle with my purchases or delve into a pile of my older sister’s hand-me-down dresses and hope something white hasn’t yellowed with time.

As the clock for my dress journey ticks, I’m also reminded of the little time I have left with my friends here at Rosary. Perhaps my inability to find a graduation dress is symbolic of my refusal to accept saying goodbye to the people I’ve bonded with for such an important time in my life. Or maybe I’m just really unlucky with finding dresses.
