On Saturday, March 4th, our fellow Royal sisters had a track meet at the Trabuco Hill Mustang Round Up. This was their second official meet of the season. Schools all over Orange County came to compete in this invitational. There was an estimated number of 400 total students, and it was a major accomplishment to compete at this level.

We have so many talented athletes who attend our school, and our freshmen never disappoint us. Freshman Jada Faison did not hesitate to make the team and school proud when she jumped an 18-3.5 in long jump and ran a 46.36 in the 300h. For the long jump, she placed 6th in the state and for the 300 hurdles she placed 9th in the state.

Not only did she make the community proud with her performance, but others did as well. Justine Wilson ‘26 ran a 12.31 in the 100m dash and a 25.58 in the 200m dash, placing 9th in the state for the 100m and 15th in the state for the 200m dash. Milan Smith ‘24 ran a 15.89 for the 100 hurdles, placing 21st in the state, and Paige Sorenson ‘24 ran a 47.63 for the 300 hurdles, placing 23rd in the state.

Lastly, we cannot forget about our girls 4×100 relay! They placed 3rd in the state with a school record of 47.82. Taylor Gomez ‘23, Francesca McGuire ‘23, Milan Smith ‘24, and Justine Wilson ‘26 are part of the team. Not only is it a school record, but it is also the fastest time in the state so far this season. Proud is an understatement to say the least. Senior Taylor Gomez shared her thoughts on this upcoming season and said, “I feel like this is going to be a super exciting season. After this weekend, it shows that we can compete at a high level. I have no doubt in my mind that we can continue breaking records.”

Overall, I think it’s safe to say that you can accomplish anything as long as you work for it. Rosary track is a good example of what our school is all about: never giving up and striving to get what we want through hard work.
