Charlotte Jordan ’23 has recently announced that she will be attending Claremont McKenna College in the fall.

Charlotte has been beloved on the Rosary campus for the past four years for her charming smile and unmistakable wit, and I had the pleasure of speaking to Charlotte about Claremont McKenna.

  1. Why Claremont McKenna?

“The first time I toured CMC was the first time I could envision myself living on and enjoying the campus, and I really love their mission of creating responsible leaders. Every time I think about it, it just feels like exactly the right place for me.”

2. What will you be studying?

“I will be studying history, with potentially a minor in literature or Spanish. In history, I’m hoping to maybe focus on European history, though I have a lot of budding interests in other areas like Japanese or South African history.”

3. What did the application process look like?

“They had a few supplementals, and then an optional interview and an optional video based on one of three prompts. Before I even knew I wanted to go to CMC, filling out the supplementals felt so natural because I enjoyed the questions, and my CMC interview was my favorite out of all the college ones I did.”

4. What are you most excited about Claremont McKenna?

“I’m most excited to meet all the new people and enjoy all of CMC’s resources. They have a building called the Athenaeum, where they host notable speakers on an expansive variety of topics, and then have free dinners after where students can have conversations with the speaker. It’s things like that that make me so excited to go.”

5. Biggest thing you’ll miss about Rosary?

“I’ll obviously painfully miss Red and Gold. Aside from that, I’ll miss all my teachers and friends and the wonderful people working at the lunch service.”

No doubt Charlotte will dominate at Claremont McKenna. If you see her on campus, say hi and congratulate her on her acceptance!
