Water polo celebrating senior night!

Sydney Rosario, Staff Writer

The water polo team has had an amazing run this season.

For some stats, they are currently on a four-game winning streak and ranked fifth in Trinity League and second in their division. Yesterday, Feb. 1, was their Senior night, where the one and only senior varsity captain, Chloe McNamara was celebrated.

So, it was only fitting to ask Chloe for a little insight on the Water Polo team’s season and what we can expect from these fabulous ladies.

How, as a team, have you prepared this season to perform as well as you have been?

I think that, as a team, we’ve worked really hard this season to make a lot of improvements. We practice two and a half hours five days a week, and we give our all every practice.

What helps you physically and mentally prepare for your games?

Music is definitely the number one thing that helps me prepare for my games. It helps me to really get in the right head space. I also think that just being around my teammates and laughing with them helps me a lot and calms my nerves.

How has being a leader helped your teammates play in sync and trust each other?

I think that they trust me a lot, and I help motivate them both in and out of the pool. I’ve just tried to get the girls to be a family. In all honesty, that’s exactly what they’ve become, and this is a big contributor to our success.

What can we expect from the Water Polo team for the rest of the season?

You can expect for us to give our all in CIF. We are really hopeful that we’ll make it to the finals.

What is your favorite part about Rosary Water Polo?

My favorite part about Rosary Water Polo is by far the people. We’ve all gotten so close this season, and I cannot imagine playing with anyone else. The pool is like a second home because of these girls.

With just a glimpse of what the water polo team is like, I am more than confident in knowing they will make it far in CIF.

Keep representing our school and make us proud!

Good luck, Royals!
