Varsity poses on the end line as they prepare to take on the Anaheim Colonists.

On Thursday night, Rosary’s varsity volleyball team defeated the Wildcats at Brea Olinda High School, making them undefeated with four sweeps in a row.

Volleyball season kicked off with a bang on Tuesday, Aug. 17. So far, varsity, junior varsity, and frosh/soph have dominated over the Sonora Raiders, Tustin Tillers, Anaheim Colonists, and now the Brea Wildcats.

After last night’s game, assistant coach Brianne Elorriaga stated, “The energy in the gym today was amazing from the crowd, from the sidelines to the athletes on the court – the Royals really brought it today on all teams! Varsity was consistent, confident and most of all had so much fun on the court with each other. I can’t wait to see what this team does in league season!”

Royal senior Sophia Hagerman added, “The team played amazing, and everyone did such a great job! There were a ton of amazing scramble plays. The rivalry between the student sections heightened the game, and the atmosphere was a lot of fun to play in. My game highlight had to be the solo block I got in the second set.”

The Royals battle to keep their undefeated title as they take on the Glenn Wilson Wildcats next Tuesday in the Karcher Center. Come out and support these undefeated Royals!
