This past weekend was the closing weekend for Trinitas’ supercalifragilisticexpialidocious production of “Mary Poppins.” After months of casting, dancing, singing, crafting and other forms of preparation, not to put on a wonderful performance for all to enjoy. If you missed it, here is some background.
The musical “Mary Poppins” follows the Banks family and their two mischievous children, Jane and Michael Banks. When trying to find a nanny to watch their children, Mary Poppins comes along and brings so much magic and joy to the family. Throughout the performance, Mary Poppins, with the help of her companion Bert, the chimney sweeper, are able to teach not just the Bank’s children, but the family about the importance of togetherness and good morals during a time of financial need. Now enough about the musical itself let’s hear the inside scoop from some of the cast members!

Starting us off strong, senior Sami DiCrisi ‘26 was our stunning, gorgeous Mary Poppins. When asked about her experience, Sami shares, “What an honor it was to play Mary Poppins for my final spring musical. I’ve been doing Trinitas ever since my freshman year and I’m so sad that it has come to a close. I felt very connected to this role and took on the challenge that came with it. What an experience it was!” Someone who was able to experience Mary Poppins on closing night, it is safe to say that Sami crushed that role. Her vocal range is out of this world, and she really made the performance come to life. Good job on your last show Sami.
Another senior, Ella Baroldi ‘26, was in a different boat from Sami as this was her very first and very last performance with Trinitas. Jumping in at the last minute, she shares, “It was such a chaotic, but fun experience for me to try. I never really thought I’d be a kid in theater, but after being at Servite for countless hours and learning all the choreography to the number ‘Step in Time,’ I think I really have some appreciation for what they do in each show. Makes me wish I joined sooner!” You know, seeing the show made me wish I joined Trinitas as well. It truly looks like so much fun. Thanks for the input, Ella.

Last but certainly not least is Servite senior Matthew Schirmer ‘26. He took on the role of the park keeper in the performance and added great comedic value and flair to the role. When asked how his last show went, Matthew elaborates, “To be honest I just love being a part of these shows. My brother is who got me into Trinitas, and he was able to see my last performance which was super cool. Sad to leave, but I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.” This might be a little TMI, but I actually sat behind your brother during closing night and was able to see how proud he really was. It was both emotional and joyful to see the bond of brotherhood. I hope all goes well in the future and we thank you for your hilarious work as the park keeper.
Now I know what you’re thinking, man. I wish I saw “Mary Poppins” or was a part of it but turns out you can be. Maybe not “Mary Poppins” the musical, but Trinitas has some great shows lined up for the 2026-2027 queue, so don’t be afraid to sign up, it really is such an amazing experience. And to close this article out, congratulations to all Mary Poppins cast and crew, it really was a fantastic show.
