When I stepped on campus for the first time four years ago, I looked at all of the upperclasswomen involved in clubs, sports and committed to their dream colleges. I always hoped to be like them. Now, as I am soaking in the last few days here at Rosary, I have wondered if freshman year me would be proud of myself now.
After further thought and looking back at the things I have decided to do in order to fill my four years here at Rosary with, I am extremely blessed for the friendships and experiences I have gained due to my involvement. So, here are some of the things that I have done throughout my high school experience that has shaped me into the person I have become today.
To start off, I got involved in many sports. I was so blessed to be able to join almost every sport I had interest in. Lacrosse taught me how to not be nervous in a new crowd, while doing something I was new to. It was also the start of my friendship with Ms. B ’16; I knew her as my coach before she was my teacher, and I now know her as someone I am able to go to when in need of advice and am able to trust, knowing there will be no judgment. I was also involved in swim and cross country, and both taught me how to deal with all types of people in stressful situations, while still working together as a team.

Campus Ministry is the activity that taught me the most. I was involved in Campus Ministry for four years. During my time being in Campus, I went on Kairos my junior year, became a leader my senior year and most importantly, constantly grew in my faith.
I could go on about the things I was involved in, but most importantly, I am here to tell you to become involved, not what I did while being involved. The numerous clubs and conversations I have been involved in taught me a few important things: to be kind, outgoing, faith-filled and to always share your ideas with others– you will never know what can come out of it.
Growing up I was extremely shy, but once I came to Rosary, I was able to break out of my shell by getting involved. The all-girls environment let me be brave and try out so many new things. I could not have gone through these past four years without my two amazing parents constantly supporting me and giving me the opportunity to go to Rosary.
So, if you’re wondering how to make your high school experience great, you should try out the new sport, join the club and make as many memories as possible!
