This week (Apr. 20-Apr. 24) is Clash of the Classes! A week full of games and free dress is just what Rosary needs as they finish off these last few weeks of school. Ms. La Bonte ’09 and ASB worked very hard to put together this fun event for the students. Through the week each activity counted for points that would be added up to crown the winning class on Friday. Each day consisted of games at lunch against other classes and a form of free dress. In addition, there was a weeklong scavenger hunt that also counted for points.
Monday kicked off the week with bubble soccer at lunch. Girls bounced around in big inflatable balls while trying to kick around a soccer ball. It was definitely one of the most entertaining lunches that many girls witnessed this year. It was, however, easier to play bubble soccer because girls got to wear jeans and their class shirt to school.
On Tuesday, students hung out in the gym to play a big game of Jeopardy in the Karcher Center. It must have been a fun coincidence that students got to play games in the comfort of the Karcher Center because it was windy and cold outside.
Long-awaited Wednesday kicked off the kickball tournament. The freshmen and sophomores played a fierce game, but ultimately the freshmen ended up winning. If they keep up the good work, they will get the chance to play against the teachers on Friday! Sophomore Melissa Lopez shared about her experience spectating the kickball game, “It was really fun to cheer on my fellow classmates, but I’m pretty sure the game was rigged because sophomores should’ve won!” It’s okay, Melissa, we’ll get them next time. Girls were dressed in brightly colored shirts and black leggings, making the school look like it was filled with confetti. What a fun way to kick off the next few dress-up days.

Thursday was an extra special dress-up day, country vs. country club! The school was full of cowgirls and tennis players. Most outfits included cowboy hats and boots, while other people’s outfits included ALO sweatshirts and tennis skirts. It was also the second day of the kickball tournament, and the seniors and juniors finally faced off. In the end, the juniors proved to be the kickball winners. Another view on the kickball tournament from an upperclasswoman, “I love having free dress and I can’t wait to beat the freshmen on Friday,” Sophie Lickl ’27. What a confident attitude, Sophie. The juniors have to get ready to face the freshmen and maybe the teachers.
Finally, Friday is another fun dress-up day. Students are encouraged to wear black and gold attire. The winning class will get to go against the teachers and staff at Rosary in the final game of the kickball tournament. Tensions are high as the freshmen and juniors get ready to play against each other and have the opportunity to play the teachers. It is also the last day of the scavenger hunt, so all collected items have to be found and turned in for class points!
This week has been so fun, with everything from bubble soccer to country club outfits. Thank you to Ms. Labonte and other students and faculty who helped make this week one to remember. Let us know who you are rooting for in the kickball tournament: teachers or students?
