Rosary Academy students are back on campus, getting back into classes, preparing for prom and counting down the days until summer. Before we look into the future, let’s recap our fellow Royals who went on a memorable trip during our spring break. From April 3-11, some students and teachers traveled out of the United States, heading east to the beautiful and historic country of Greece.
The long flight was worth it, as the group experienced some amazing sights. They got the chance to watch the guards change in Athens, went shopping and sightseeing and traveled to Santorini on a boat. Royals celebrated Easter Sunday together and enjoyed all the good foods that Greece has to offer. They walked to a village while learning about the history and even took a Greek cooking class.
Makayla Rodriguez ’27 attended the Greece trip and had a blast. She states, “One of my favorite parts of the Greece trip was the program we did the Greece trip through because our tour guide was so amazing. He was the nicest person ever, and now we all follow him on Instagram, which is so cool. Another favorite moment during the trip would have to be visiting Athens because I didn’t feel at all like a tourist town; it was super homey. Overall, spending time with my friends and getting closer to the teachers was the best part of the trip.”
Many of the travelers gave positive feedback about their tour guide. All of them added him on Instagram so they can now stay connected.

The Social Studies department chair and junior class moderator, Mrs. Jenkins, traveled with the Royals on the spring break trip to Greece: “This Easter Break, nine Rosary students traveled to Greece alongside a small group from Assumption High School, an all-girls Catholic school from Kentucky. Accompanied by myself and Ms. Kelly, the group was able to see incredible historic sites such as the Acropolis in Athens, the Temple of Apollo in Delphi, as well as the stunning Greek Islands of Santorini and Crete. Students were able to taste traditional Greek food, enjoy a cooking class and a cultural evening with Greek dancing and the tradition of spasimo, when plates are broken to symbolize a new beginning.”
Mrs. Jenkins continues speaking about their Easter celebration: “It was truly special to celebrate Mass on Easter Sunday at the Holy Catholic Cathedral of Saint Denis the Areopagite in Athens, visit the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Santorini, as well as Saint Minas Holy Cathedral, a beautiful Greek Orthodox Church. It was an unforgettable trip filled with learning, adventure, bonding and memories to last a lifetime!”

Sophomore Autry Lee gave her input on the Greece trip: “My Greece trip was super fun, and it was also a good time to connect with new girls from other schools. We shared our trip with another school from Kentucky, and it was fun getting to know them. My favorite part was seeing all the cats, which were all over all the islands we went to, but I also loved going to Santorini. Seeing all the historical sites was interesting, and I loved getting to explore and learn about them.”
This Greece trip is absolutely going to be everyone’s favorite trip of all time. Heidi Morales ’26 adds, “Since I can remember, Greece has always been my dream vacation. When I had the opportunity to go on this trip, I was extremely excited. Although I have never really traveled anywhere, I don’t think there will be a trip that can top this one. One of my favorite moments on this trip was getting to learn one of their traditional dances, meeting new people, hearing all about the way they live and seeing what culture difference there is in general. Something that made this super special was that our tour guide, Evan, showed us around and took us to many traditional places and even shared his own life experiences in Athens.”
As spring break came to an end, the Royals and teachers who attended the trip remembered all the fun, memorable moments during their vacation to Greece. They leave this break knowing that it was a trip of a lifetime, and many would say it was their favorite trip they have been on. If you want to attend a trip like this during your time at Rosary, keep an eye out for your email so you can have this chance to explore somewhere life-changing.
