It’s that time of the year, seniors. Something I know every senior has been hearing about since they were a freshman is the senior exit interview. Our interviews are around the corner, and they might be making people feel all the emotions, including nervousness, dread and uncertainty about how the interview will go. Though these nervous thoughts will make the situation feel bigger, there is no need to worry about your interview.
From April 28 to 30, Rosary seniors are required to attend a “senior exit interview.” Part of the purpose of this interview is to prepare a resume, which will be worked on during English class. This interview will also include being able to reflect on your time at Rosary Academy.
There are some crucial guidelines that you must know before attending the interview. The requirements are wearing formal uniform (including an appropriate skirt length), arriving on time (preferably 5-10 minutes early), introducing yourself to the panel while handing them your résumé, answering questions honestly to the panel and having proper body language.
With no current Rosary student ever having gone through a senior exit interview, Mieke Van Dijk ’25 shared the advice that she would give to the class of 2026: “Make sure you enter with confidence! Teachers already know you and want you to succeed, so do not worry too much! Make sure you speak very clearly and understand the school’s values. Talking about your personal experiences and stories really demonstrates how much you care and have grown while being at Rosary!” Mieke’s advice really shows what you should be like at your senior exit interview.

Senior Daniella Gonzalez highlights how she will be preparing for her senior exit interview: “Even though I will have some nerves going into this interview, I am going to look at the slideshow Mrs. Huerta sent out and talk to my friends from the class of 2025. I believe after all that I should be ready to go.” All seniors should follow Dani’s advice.
Senior Addison Gutierrez is quite excited for her interview; she said, “I am so pumped for senior exit interviews. I have been looking forward to it since freshman year, and I’m very happy we get a late start.” Wow, it seems like Addi is prepared and excited.
Along with Addi, Maddie Lambros ’26 has been preparing too. She explained, “Senior exit interviews are a great way to prepare for future interviews and job opportunities. I have already signed up for mine and am looking forward to presenting my resume along with my core values and what I have gotten out of Rosary!” Well, we know Maddie will be ready.
Senior Jocelyn Ojeda ’26 makes a good point with her outlook on the interview: “I am so excited for my senior exit interview. I’ve never had a job, so this is going to add to some of the few experiences I have with interviews and things like résumé making. I’m looking forward to getting a feel for how it’s going to be and for all the late start days!” I have also never had a job, so making my resume and feeling the nerves that come with an interview is definitely getting me ready for the real world!
Mrs. Huerta ’94 states her opinion and advice she would want to hear before she attended an interview. She states, “Senior exit interviews give students a chance to really tell their Rosary story and reflect on how their experiences here have shaped who they are. I encourage seniors to come ready to talk about themselves—their involvement, how they’ve grown and the moments that stand out the most. Putting together a résumé is a great way for them to practice sharing their accomplishments and feel confident as they think about their future. My biggest advice is to enjoy the experience, be open to learning and take the feedback to heart.”
If you haven’t signed up for your interview, find the email Mrs. Huerta sent out a couple of weeks ago. If you do not sign up for an interview before April 1, the Rosary staff will pick your time for the interview. Good luck to the senior class!
