On Thursday, March 19, Rosary held a Mass for the Feast Day of Saint Joseph. The beautiful celebration was held in Rosary’s Karcher Center, where the entire student body came together to honor and remember St. Joseph. This is one of the many great ways Rosary comes together to connect and pray within the community.
At the beginning of the Mass, Head of School, Dr. Pautsch, began with a reminder to Royals of the character of St. Joseph: “Joseph had a very quiet character, because of the volumes his character spoke.” I think we should all strive to be like that!
The homily, given by Deacon Eric Summerfield, resonated with many, if not all, students. It centered on how Joseph serves as an example of the type of person we should strive to be and have in our lives as young women. Senior Giselle Gomez commented, “The homily was so good, everyone loved it. It reminded me of the legacy that the Sisters of St. Joseph have at Rosary.” It was great to see the Royals’ attentiveness towards the homily. The Sisters of St. Joseph played a huge part in Rosary’s creation.

Following the homily, Religion Teacher Mrs. Vasquez ’17 led a worship song in which the girls offered their prayers, and the Eucharist was blessed and given. Finally, the Mass ended with the blessing of the spring athletes by Fr. Michael Nguyen and Deacon Summerfield. Another senior, Isabella Dedes, added, “They were definitely generous with the blessings; everyone was giggling. I always enjoy when we have Mass. It’s super peaceful; I love it.”
Overall, this Mass served as an important reminder to let actions speak louder than words and to be a person of good morals, regardless of what is socially acceptable to society. We hope you enjoyed the Mass and wish the best of luck to our spring athletes!
