Red & Gold is fast approaching, and all the category captains are trying their best to stay afloat during the last two weeks before the performance. Everyone has been doing a great job of putting the shows together and working hard these past five weeks. Pub has been amazing, constantly reattaching fallen off posters and keeping the restrooms clean. Producers have been seen walking around during flex and keeping an eye out on their team’s performance progress. Gold Producer Michaela Watson ’26 shares, “I love being behind the scenes of everything and bringing the show to life. It’s amazing seeing the show build up day by day. I, of course, couldn’t have done all this without my Co-Producer, Rachel Swenson ’27!” White Team has also been super supportive of both teams and all captains are grateful for their guidance this year. The girls are also very grateful to the teachers and parents that give up their time to supervise them during the 45-minute period and will continue to make them proud on performance day.
DANCE/DRILL: During flex hours music has been heard blaring from the Karcher Center and field as dance and drills alike continue to clean up their dances and practice stunts. Recently the dance and drills had their performance showcases for their appropriate color. Cheering could be heard all over the school as girls screamed and cheered for their friends on different dances/drills. Red dance captain Belle Vallejo ’26 shares about flex, “I have loved every part of this challenge. Teaching and choreographing a dance for 25 girls hasn’t been easy but I have loved watching the girls who know nothing about dance killing it at our rehearsals.” Red & Gold brings girls out of their comfort zone and helps them shine even more, especially during these last few weeks.
CHORAL: Choral can be found in classrooms during Flex, harmonizing and practicing their moves in addition to their songs. They’ve been working with tech to record their voices for the big weekend and perfect every note. Many people are looking forward to seeing choral preform during the show because of the sense of depth they add to every performance.
DRAMA: While other categories are dancing, cheering and trying to find the perfect pitch, drama has been making the stories come to life. Over these 5 weeks, the drama categories have been practicing and making their show the very best so they can give the audience an experience of a lifetime and make the story unfold before their eyes. We are so excited to see both of the shows shine!

FASHION: The fashion captains have had their hands busy, fixing and bedazzling costumes. They are doing their best to make sure that every girl will look amazing on stage, during performance weekend. It is so important to take good care of your costumes, as you will be using them for every show. It is also important to follow you fashion captains’ specific details regarding hair, makeup, and costume. These instructions are in place so everyone can look and feel confident in their outfits for the show.
On March 7, the girls will be having their second practice at Servite High School. This practice is around 3 hours for each team. This long practice includes approximately two full run-throughs of each performance and a full costume dress rehearsal, including hair and makeup. Red Team’s rehearsal is from 12-3, but girls will be expected to arrive by 11:30 at the latest. Gold Team’s rehearsal is from 8-11, but girls will be expected to arrive by 7:30 at the latest. Unless they are given other instructions from White Team or their own captains, girls are expected arrive in the Servite quad at their designated times.
