The countdown to Red & Gold is on. With two weeks left of FLEX all the captains are working hard to make their performances show ready. This Saturday, Feb. 28, we have our first rehearsal at Servite. There, each team will showcase its show as a whole for the first time. This is a good opportunity for students to get a feel for the stage and flow of the show. The captains will use this rehearsal to get out any kinks to perfect their show and make it as smooth as possible.
Red team will start off rehearsals at 8 a.m. and finish at 11:50 a.m. Gold team will go next from 12:30 – 3:20 p.m. All students must arrive 30 minutes before their call time, so nobody is late. Each dance, drill and choral performance will have its own call times, so check the Red & Gold Rehearsal email for times and further information.
Red team dance captain, Caleigh Steward ’26, shared how her dance is looking and how she is planning to make her dance even better this weekend, “FLEX has been going well, it’s hard to hear everything and focus in the gym due to all the music playing, but that’s a part of the experience. The girls in my dance make me proud every FLEX, and they always try their best. For this weekend, my goal is to see the whole dance on stage and see what needs tweaking when we’re under the lights. I’m really excited.” This weekend, all captains and students will be polishing and fixing their performances to perfection.
Gold dance captain Phia Fletchall ’26 shared her expectations for further practices and rehearsal this weekend, “My dance is coming along well and is becoming a lot cleaner. This weekend, we are going to work on everyone’s energy and make the dance as clean as possible. I am so excited for this weekend and the rest of the Red & Gold experience.” Sounds like everybody is very excited for Red & Gold to finally be here.
Both our Red & Gold shows look amazing, and it is only up from here. With practice every day and rehearsal this weekend, these shows will be in really good shape for the weekend of March 13 and 14.
