During Red & Gold season, a common question that can be heard echoing throughout Rosary’s hallways is, “Which team are you on, red or gold?” While the likely response to hear would either be “Red” or “Gold,” there is a secret third option: “White.” The White Team is a special Red & Gold team made up of the members of ASB’s cabinet, as well as two honorary members, known as the White Team Junior Rep and the White Team Senior Rep. This non-partisan group of Royals plays many roles in the development of Red & Gold that not many of their fellow Royals may know about. This year’s White Team consists of Senior Rep Christina Vaughan, Executive President Bella Ramirez ’26, Junior Rep Lexie Curtis, Social Chair Siena Ruszack ’26, Social Chair Melina Gonzalez ’26 and Executive Treasurer Sophie Figueroa ’26. White Team member Sophie shared her unique experience with the small group of Royals, so let’s take a look at how her Red & Gold season has been so far.
What teams and categories were you placed in during your previous Red & Gold seasons?
Freshman year I was on gold stage tech. Sophomore year I was on gold dance, and junior year I was on red drill.
As executive treasurer, and, thus, a member of ASB’s cabinet, how did you react when you realized that you would be a member of White Team during this school year?
I was super excited and ready but also prepared myself for the large responsibility I would have managing Red & Gold finances.
Now that you’re a senior at Rosary, what does the opportunity to have such a great Red & Gold position on White Team mean to you?
It honestly means the world to me. I came into Rosary without any prior knowledge about what Red & Gold was and now being able to play such a big role and be super involved in a tradition that I have grown to love on my own is such a blessing.
How has it been like to see Red & Gold from a different perspective as a member of White Team?
It is so amazing to see the behind the scenes of all of Red and Gold, and the amount of time that goes into the show outside of just Flex hours.
How has your bond with your fellow White Team sisters strengthened throughout your time together?
My bond with my fellow White Team members makes the entire process so much easier and more enjoyable. We work hard and know when to get serious but are also always making each other laugh and turn our duties into fun activities that we can do together.

White Team’s mascot this year is the White Doctors. If you could choose a different mascot for White Team, what would it be?
The White Team Princesses.
What is your favorite part of your role as a member of White Team?
My favorite part is definitely being able to walk around and see the progress of the categories. I love seeing girls learn their roles and get excited to play their part in the show, whether that’s on or off stage.
As a member of White Team, what are your day-to-day roles during Flex?
As Treasurer, I keep track of receipts and spending and make sure categories stay in budget.
Tell us about your experience planning for and decorating the White Team bathroom, a very much looked-forward-to Red & Gold tradition.
The bathroom was something we were all very excited to do and had been planning our theme for weeks before. We all agreed to contribute different items to the bathroom and decorated the majority of the bathroom the night before kick-off, at the sleepover.
Can you give us any sneak peeks regarding the White Team performance on Red & Gold morning?
All I can say is that we are already starting to prepare and are so excited to perform for everyone!
Rosary is so blessed to have such a wonderful White Team for Red & Gold 2026, including our Co-Editors-in-Chief, Christina and Bella. On behalf of all Royals, congratulations, White Team, and we all appreciate you and are looking forward to seeing all that you will do this Red & Gold season!
