Happy almost-Valentine’s Day, Royals! The holiday of love is quickly approaching, and many Royals are looking forward to celebrating both Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day on February 13. Galentine’s Day is a special holiday on the day before Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13) that celebrates love and friendship, but especially as it relates to sisterhood, and ASB has a unique way to celebrate the holiday this year. So that Royals can celebrate both of these holidays with their friends, ASB will be selling their special Valentine’s Grams from Feb. 9-12. These grams consist of hand-written letters that Royals write for each other- a beautiful gift that truly shows your friends how much they mean to you.
ASB sells their Valentine’s Grams annually in February, and it is great way for all students to celebrate the friendships that they’ve made and the sisters that they have found at Rosary. These grams cost $2.00 each, and Royals can send them to all of their friends, and not just at Rosary; these grams can be sent to our brothers at Servite as well. Simply fill in your friend’s name, grade and school, and they will receive a special note on Galentine’s Day (possibly with a sweet treat as well). The Valentine’s Grams can be purchased outside of the Karcher Center each day at lunch from Feb. 9-12. After all the students have bought their grams, they will be distributed on Friday, Feb. 13, just in time for Galentine’s Day as well as Valentine’s Day.
Junior Mary Jane Simmons is an ASB member who knows that Valentine’s Grams are a great way to celebrate friendship: “Each and every Royal should purchase Valentine’s Grams this week! It’s a fun way to share friendship with our Rosary sisters spreading enthusiasm and joy around campus. The grams allow us to celebrate, connect, and strengthen our bonds of sisterhood!” Mary Jane continued, “Doesn’t everyone love getting a sweet treat from their friends?” With these letters, it sounds like Royals will be having a gram-tastic Galentine’s Day!
Mary Jane’s fellow ASB member, Suzanne Murillo ’27 shared why Valentine’s Grams are so meaningful: “Valentine’s Grams are a fun way to remind our Royal sisters and Servite brothers how much we care for them. A gram tells its receiver that they’re being thought of, and it’s a sweet gesture that we can do for our Valentines and our Galentines.” Suzanne said, “If any Royal wants to show their appreciation for their loved ones, purchasing a gram is a great way to do so!”
This Valentine’s Day, show your friends how much you appreciate them by supporting ASB and sending them a Valentine’s Gram. These grams are a great way to get into the Valentine’s spirit, to kick off the celebration and to reflect on sisterhood, love and friendship.
