Being a student athlete is a grind in itself, but senior Hannah Kelly makes it look easy. Hannah is involved in FOUR different sports at Rosary. I thought I was busy enough already with seven classes, so let’s dive into how she handles all of her extracurriculars.
Hannah is currently involved in the flag football, soccer, lacrosse and softball teams. She has been playing “flag and lacrosse since my sophomore year, soccer since my childhood and freshman year and softball since my senior year.” Could you imagine joining a new sport in your senior year?
Out of all of these, she says her favorite is flag football. It is her favorite out of all her extracurriculars because “it is a sport that I have always wanted to play but I never had the chance until high school. It is super fun in my opinion.”
She also commented on some of her favorite experiences and memories, which came from flag football: “I was selected to represent Rosary in two Orange County All-Star games. My favorite memory, though, was definitely scoring the [Rosary] program’s very first touchdown ever.” Sounds like Joe Burrow better watch out!
In Hannah’s notable touchdown game, she was playing at SoFi Stadium with her teammates for the first time in RA history!
In terms of time management, Hannah credits her success in this to always “putting God first.” With juggling 8-10 hours of practice per sport every week, she says that “He always provides me with the ability to get everything done, and He allows me to do this to the best of my abilities. I honestly have no idea how I’d handle it without Him.”

Dedicating yourself to as many sports as Hannah does seems nearly impossible as a victim of senioritis. So, I asked Hannah what advice she would give to someone also hoping to commit themselves the way she has. She says her biggest piece of advice is to “always trust in God and never get overwhelmed. It is possible to get things done as long as you have faith and stay levelheaded.”
Comment below which sport you think Hannah should try in the Olympics!
