Happy National Counselors Week! This week, we celebrate our on-campus counseling department for all the help and guidance they provide us each year. Every counselor plays a big role in our time at Rosary, from helping us choose classes to applying for colleges; they ensure we are prepared for life after graduation. Many students are grateful for their counselors and the constant support they show, and this week is the best time to highlight each of our counselors.
First, Rosary’s newest Academic Counselor, Ms. Abalos, has fully embraced the Rosary community and continues to be a helping hand to students. One of her students, Michaela Watson ‘26, says, “Ms. Abalos is so kind and friendly. When I first met her at the beginning of the year, she reassured me with all my college applications, and I love going into her office because it is so cozy.” Ms. Abalos has been a great addition to the Rosary community!
Mrs. Sanchez is another Academic Counselor, and her office is always equipped with some coconut candies for any students seeking her help. Senior Christina Vaughan says, “I love Ms. Sanchez; she always pushes me to be the best and is very reassuring when I have doubts about college-related things.” College definitely brings us some stressful topics, but our counselors are always ready to help.

Our Social & Emotional Counselor, Ms. Marquez, is who students go to to de-stress, whether it means playing with sensory toys or just having a conversation. She is also an academic counselor for some students. Olivia Mann ‘27 says, “Ms. Marquez is such a great counselor, not only does she help me with my emotional needs, but she also reassures me with my grades and college concerns.” She offers great support for all students around campus!
Mrs. Lee, director of Academic & College Counseling, is always ready to help students in every way possible and even offers some comedic relief. Mrs. Lee is very supportive of students and always helps me de-stress from college applications! Everyone loves going to visit Mrs. Lee and ask for advice throughout the year. Whether she is helping balance class schedules or calming nerves, stop by her office to say hi!
Lastly, Mrs. Moore is always ready to send new scholarship opportunities, transcripts and updates to students throughout the year. While she does scare some students when sending out report cards, she is a friendly face ready to help you. She plays an important role in Honors Night for students, making sure report cards are ready and students are set to graduate. Make sure to stop in sometime and show your appreciation!
Every counselor means so much to the Rosary community, and we would not be complete without them. Their help and support through our craziness let us keep moving forward, so it is time to celebrate them! Whether you have wished them a happy National Counselors Week yet or not, you should make time to go see them and get to know each one more.
