This year, the Rosary Soccer Team has been dominating the field. With many strong seniors leading the way, the Royals are undefeated in their league games. The soccer team recently had their senior night on Jan. 16, giving the seniors a special send-off. Three girls have received scholarships and D1 offers, which they have taken and committed to. As the team continues to work hard this season, Rosary’s soccer stars deserve all the recognition they can get.
Senior Addison Hansen is one of the three girls who will be playing on a D1 soccer team next fall. She was originally committed to the University of Montana, but due to a coaching switch, she decided to follow her coach to a different school. Addie is now on track to attend Washington State University, which she has already signed to. She shares about this exciting news, “It was a stressful switch, but now I cannot wait for this next chapter in my life!” Rosary is so excited to see Addie thrive! When looking back her past four years playing soccer on Rosary’s team, Addie cherishes the memories and friendships she has made, saying, “It is such a fun environment to be in!”

Soccer has impacted many of the girls at Rosary in different ways. For Addie, it’s helping her in college, but for Olivia Hernandez ’28 it has taught her important life lessons. Olivia shares what it has been like to grow up with the sport: “Playing soccer has taught me to never stop working for something that you want, to enjoy the small and big moments, and that you are exactly where you need to be.” Hard work and determination are what set Rosary apart from other soccer teams.
Through sisterhood and friendships, our girls push themselves to be the best they can be on the field. They’ve built close connections and made hundreds of memories during the season. Sophomore Angelina Gutierrez explains what she loves about playing at Rosary: “Soccer has impacted my life by bringing me closer to my friends. My favorite thing about playing soccer at Rosary is the sisterhood and how close our team is.” The Rosary value of sisterhood is demonstrated on and off the field, from cheering each other on to praying before games.
Rosary is so proud of the soccer team this year, as they continue their season Rosary students will continue to support the on the sidelines. If you would like to come out and support our girls, you can come to their next game on Jan. 30 against University. Go Royals!
