The Rosary Dance Team is almost headed on a plane to Orlando, but before they head to LAX, there has to be a change. Each dancer and the Rosary Dance Team’s Instagram account has officially changed their profile pictures to the same one. The photo in their profiles represents the theme or songs that the dancers will be performing to in Florida. So before you panic, no, Instagram is not glitching; this was all done on purpose.
This idea originated from last year’s LSU dance team changing their profiles to different colors of M&M’s, and the college team performed with umbrellas, creating a visual effect that looked like M&M’s on stage. Other college teams followed the idea and changed their profiles as well. Many fans got into it, trying to figure out which song they were going to dance to before the day of the performance.
For the Rosary Dance Team, their profiles were updated to feature a “Hamilton” poster with a girl levitating in a blue dress. The photo also adds a cat with a pink coat pointing to the sky. What could this profile photo possibly refer to? Other non-dancer Royals think they figured it all out. Emma Lugo ’28 gives her thoughts on the profile change: “I think they are dancing to a ‘Hamilton’ song, or their costumes are based on ‘Hamilton.’ I don’t understand what the cat would be in reference to.”
Another Sophomore, Autry Lee, exclaimed, “The girl levitating in the photo has to be a reference to them dancing to the song ‘Levitating’ by Dua Lipa.” Once each dance is performed in Florida, many will find out why the profile photo looks like that.

Dance team Co-Captain Anayra Reynoso ’26 shares more information about why dance teams change their profiles: “Changing our profile pictures gives our competitors a sneak peek at what our routines are about! There is no special meaning behind it, just a fun little easter egg that teams do before competing in Florida!”
Dance Team Coach and Dean of Students, Mrs. Burboa, expresses, “This year for nationals, we decided to have a little fun with our Instagram profile pic and, similar to what the college teams do, we created a profile picture that hints at what our routine themes are for the year! The team and coaches all changed their profile pictures about a week before we left for nationals, and it has been a fun social media bonding activity!”
In the dance world, college teams performed the weekend of Jan. 16-18 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Many colleges put out very entertaining performances that wowed many. Now, high school dance teams are headed to the same venue to do just that. The Rosary dance team will be performing from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.
