This Wednesday, January 12, Rosary had a special guest speaker, Maggie Craig. Maggie is a Catholic inspirational speaker and author.
She spoke at length about the power of God’s love and building healthy Christian friendships. She compared God’s love to Niagara Falls, covering us no matter what. Maggie also provided some funny anecdotes to explain how prayer is a necessary part of our relationship with God. She then went into how to develop and keep friendships with Christ at the center. After the talk, she did a Q&A session.
Maggie was very engaging and funny. Many Royals enjoyed the speech, Sophie Figueroa ’26 commented, “I found Maggie Craig really engaging and perfectly fit for an all-girls teen audience. Her passion for speaking was obvious, and it made her really inspiring. She effectively connected with her audience, and it made her talk enjoyable.”
Bella Vallejo ’26 added, “I found her story about the boy really relatable, so she definitely had my attention.” That’s for sure! Her anecdotes were very funny and drew on common experiences of teenage girls.

Campus Ministry Director, Mrs. Kearns ‘78, invited Maggie to speak to us on Wednesday. Here’s what she wants students to take away: “First and foremost, ‘they are loved by God’ and that their faith is about ‘relationships.’” She continued, “‘To build your relationship with God, you must spend time with him, in prayer, Mass, Adoration – just spend time with Him.’”
And finally, she added, “‘Don’t get caught up in friendship drama – go directly to the person you have an issue with and give them a chance to explain themselves, get advice from an adult and be ready to forgive, if necessary.’”
I really appreciated having a break in our busy schedules to listen to Maggie. It was a refreshing reminder that in an increasingly secular society, there are plenty of faith-filled young people to connect with.
