Welcome back, Royals! Did you enjoy the long break? I know I did. Although snow would have made it the perfect white Christmas, I settled for the cold and rainy weather. After asking around, I got to hear about all of the amazing things our Royals did this break.
To start off, senior Bella Luciano explained, “Over break, I went to Yosemite with my entire mom’s side of the family! My grandparents have a cabin and so we stayed there! There was snow, and all the cousins played ‘Monopoly’!” That seems amazing- family bonding and snow. One year, it hailed, and I convinced myself that it was going to snow.
Melissa Lopez ’28 decided to stay more local and spend time with her friends: “I went to Chili’s with my friends.” I am not too fond of Chili’s, but maybe I’ll have to give it another try; maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

To add, freshman Kiera Bernath had a very informative break: “Over this break, I visited the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA with my dad. We got to see many vintage and rare cars, and also spent quality time together while seeing something we are interested in.”
Seniors Caleigh Steward and Ava Gollette traveled to New York City for the last few days of break. Caleigh Steward explained, “New York was brutally cold, but super fun! It felt like we were true New Yorkers. From taking the subway to shopping in Soho, we soaked in every single moment.”
Personally, I (Harper Clark ’26) stayed at home watching Christmas movies and hung out with friends. My favorite part of Christmas break is getting to put away all the stuff Santa brought me and giving my mom a haul (even though she bought it all). To add to that, I (Julia Pinner ’26) went to Warner Bros. Studios to visit the place where they filmed many all-time favorite films. I spent most of my time on the Gilmore Girls set, and my mom, sister and I got to walk around Stars Hollow with hot chocolate in hand. I definitely recommend going the next time you are in Los Angeles.

The Royals had an unforgettable break. It’s been so fun hearing about everybody’s exciting break. Only 11 more weeks until Spring Break! Don’t forget to stay on top of your work this semester.
