Soccer season started this past Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Marina High School. Varsity Royals shot their way through the game, coming home winning 2-1 and kicking off their season with an amazing start.
Rosary soccer has a history of sisterhood and a hard work ethic. Royal players work hard on and off the field to perform well and reflect their Rosary values. Let’s see what they have to say about their first game!
Senior Bella Cantos has been playing with Rosary’s team for the past four years and gave input on her first game of senior year: “It was a good outcome for our first game of the year! We were happy to walk away with a win.”

Team manager and junior Grecia Garcia has “played soccer since [she] was nine, but stopped playing after freshman year and has been the team manager for the varsity team for the last two years now.” She described Tuesday’s game against Marina as a “close game, but it was our first game, so obviously we still have some work to do, but our team is amazing.”
Grecia left some final comments on the team and its leadership, “We have amazing coaches, Leandra [Gimenez] and Marcos, who work hard for our team, and our JV coaches, Bella and Justin, are amazing too! I’m super excited for this season. We have an awesome team full of amazing players, and I have a lot of faith in us.” Sounds like the Royals are in for an amazing season!

Transferring Senior Nicole Alatorre also made similar remarks on this year’s team: “The energy on this team is amazing! I am excited to have a good run in the season.”
Soccer also had a game Dec. 4, but unfortunately didn’t have as much luck as they did in their first game.
Soccer’s next game is Dec. 8 at 6 p.m., at Saint Joseph’s High School. Be sure to show up and show out for our Royals! Overall, we are always so proud of our Royals and can’t wait to see what they kick in this season.
