This Tuesday, Nov. 18, I attended the last Inspire Her, previously called Speak to Inspire, of the fall and heard from three Rosary alumnae. This Inspire Her featured the Arora sisters: Megan Arora ’02, Noreen Arora ’04 and Claire Arora ‘14. This session focused on different fields of business and how each of the sisters’ unique experiences has led them to where they are now. Whether you attended one of the sessions this year or plan to next semester, Inspire Her offers Royals great ways to learn from alumnae sharing advice and make new connections!
Mrs. Pontius ‘03 organizes the Inspire Her meetings each year by working with alumnae to showcase several careers. Before the session took place, she commented that “Our three alumnae, Megan, Noreen and Claire, are excited to come to campus and share about their experiences. They are also looking forward to meeting and answering your questions.” It is always great to hear from new alumnae and to hear what they have learned. During this session it was especially fun to hear from three sisters who each went into business, but whose individual interests led them toward different routes.
Megan Arora shared that she graduated from LMU, where she studied International Business and Management, and now serves as a regional sales manager at Solar Edge. Both her sisters, Noreen and Claire Arora, graduated from USD with a major in Business Administration but with different emphases. Noreen chose to focus on marketing while Claire chose finance. Now, Noreen owns her own company, Noreen Arora Communications, and enjoys creating her own balance between her career and her family. Claire also has her own achievements of serving as the youngest Vice President for Customer Success at Green Street. Sofia Saldana ’27 attended the session and said, “I loved hearing from all of the speakers and learning how they got to travel all around before they started their jobs.”

During the session, I learned how each of their travels impacted their lives. Megan had the opportunity to travel internationally and experience new cultures in college. During her time at LMU, she studied abroad in Bonn, Germany, which sparked new ideas. As she was exposed to new cultures, she became interested in broader global ideas. After graduating from LMU, she worked in Australia and then moved to Boston. Now, she has been working in Clean Tech for 17 years and continues to pursue this passion at her job at SolarEdge.
Noreen explained that after she graduated from USD, she moved to Australia, like her sister Megan, with a few friends and spent time exploring countries across Southeast Asia. Once she was ready to move back, she also moved to Boston and went back to school for her graduate degree at Emerson College. One thing I found especially interesting was that she worked for IDEO. If you don’t know IDEO, they have made items from Apple’s first mouse all the way to the Swiffer. After earning her graduate degree and spending time working in Boston, she moved back to California and now runs her own business. All of her international and work experiences have contributed to where she is now and to her success.
Lastly, Claire, who also graduated from USD, was a little different. She was able to find a job soon after college at Green Street where she remains working. Although, when she first joined, she was focusing on research when she realized she wanted to be more hands-on. So, after a few years, she shifted to working directly with clients and is now the youngest VP the company has had while leading her own team.
If you were unable to make it to any of this semester’s sessions, there is still time to catch some new topics when we return from winter break. If you are interested in a specific subject or field, email Mrs. Pontius for more information. Even if you are still figuring out what you want to study, these Inspire Her sessions are a way to learn more about what day-to-day work is like and whether you are interested.
