Wednesday, Nov. 12 marked National Signing Day and Rosary’s first signing day of the year! Six seniors signed for their respective sports surrounded by their supportive family and friends.
Senior Addie Hansen verbally committed to play D1 at the University of Montana for soccer back during her junior year. Addie began her soccer journey at the age of five and is grateful for the special moments that Rosary soccer has given her. She shared her love for the Rosary team saying, “My favorite Rosary soccer memory is honestly just our team environment. Every practice, game and meeting is filled with so much laughter and jokes, which is what I truly love most about our team.”

As she moves on to the next level of soccer, Addie is excited to join a competitive environment that will also allow her to make new friends and memories. She decided to further her soccer journey at the University of Montana for many reasons: “The culture and values the team has and the school spirit is everything I wanted in a college. The coaches there are also so welcoming and supportive.” In terms of future aspirations, Addie would consider playing soccer after college, but for now, she will step on the field as a Grizzly next year!
Senior twins Jada Faison and Amaya Faison committed to University of California, Berkley for D1 soccer. They have played on Rosary’s varsity soccer team since their freshman year. Jada and Amaya have consistently been great soccer players and even earned athletic awards for their skills and hard work.
Ava Gollette ’26 will also be continuing her soccer journey, playing D2 soccer at Newberry College. Ava also began playing soccer at the age of five, and her favorite Rosary soccer memory is going to Arizona with the team. There, she had a great time playing in the tournament and rooming with her teammates.

Ava will further her soccer skills all the way in South Carolina. When asked why she chose Newberry College, Ava said, “I chose this college because when I went on my visit, I loved the environment of the campus as well as the team chemistry.” Ava is ready to kick off her college journey by experiencing everything Newberry has to offer her while working hard for her team and meeting new people.

Now, we are taking things from the field to the court! Maddie Lambros ’26 will be continuing her volleyball journey at the University of Chicago at the D3 level. Maddie started bumping, setting and spiking when she was eight years old and began playing club volleyball in 5th grade. Maddie is so grateful to Rosary’s volleyball program for all the memories, successes and growth it allowed her to experience: “My favorite memory from Rosary volleyball was definitely winning our league back-to-back. Rosary volleyball gave me my confidence on and off the court, allowed me to create connections and fostered personal growth both mentally and physically: I am forever grateful to this program.”

Maddie is looking forward to becoming a part of the UChicago family. She explained the incredible opportunity that the University of Chicago offers her as a student and an athlete: “UChicago was ranked 6th overall best school in the U.S., so attending this institution not only allows me to pursue my passion of sports but also receive a world class education.” She plans to double major in pre-law and business economics, so she will have both volleyball and great academic resources at her fingertips. Maddie is excited to join such a special team and forge lifelong bonds through her new volleyball program. While Maddie does not plan to pursue volleyball after college, she will simply move from the volleyball court to the legal court!
Finally, Gianna Sorensen ’26 will foster her love for rowing at the D1 level at the University of Tennessee. While this sport is not offered at Rosary, Gianna has worked tirelessly to become a great rower just in the last year! She discovered rowing while she was injured, using a specific machine to stay conditioned. Her dad, a former assistant rowing coach, also recommended that she try it.

Gianna is most looking forward to the competitive aspect at the University of Tennessee. She chose this university because “they are top five in the nation, and I love the atmosphere on and off the water. I loved the university in general and wanted a big school experience.” She is ready to jump in the waters of new friendships, high-level coaching and fun football games. Gianna dreams of continuing her rowing journey after college through the U23 Trials—a competition for rowers hoping to represent the U.S. internationally—and world races.
Congratulations to all of our great athletes! Everyone at Rosary is so proud of all the hard work, dedication and success of these athletes, and we wish them all the best during the next parts of their journeys. We are so excited to see all the amazing things these Royals will do!
