The Sisters of St. Joseph are sponsoring a Youth Advisory Program for High School Students. Any high school student interested in gaining experience in the nonprofit field and in grantmaking are eligible to participate. It is also a great opportunity to connect with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange. Those who participate have the opportunity to learn about leadership and most importantly make a difference.
This program used to be a 6-8 week commitment, but now it is only a day long. There are two days offered for the leadership training: Jan. 5 located at Rosary Academy from 8:30-3:30 and Feb. 28 at Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange Motherhouse from 8:30-3:30. In addition, each participant will receive a $50.00 gift card as a thank you for attending. To sign up, students must “[send] an email to Barry Ross indicating your name, school, grade, and which session you wish to attend,” as stated by this week’s Royal Review.

The Executive Director of Campus Ministry, Mrs. Kearns ’78, shared how this program has impacted many students over the years: “Many of our students have participated in the Youth Forum over the past few years. Students have gained experience in grant writing, non-profits, and the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph. They have been inspired by the Sisters to give voice to the voiceless and stand up for those who are marginalized and in need.” It sounds like an amazing and influential opportunity for the Royals.
Make sure to register as soon as possible. It would be great if many Royals were involved with the Sisters, since they are our schools’ founders. To register or ask questions, contact Mr. Ross: [email protected]
