Trinitas Arts Conservatory has been known to put on some blockbuster plays and musicals. They started off the 2024-2025 school year strong by putting on “Peter and the Starcatcher,” the hilarious prequel to J.M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan.” Trinitas’ take on “Elf: The Musical” ironically followed in the spring and did not disappoint. This weekend from Nov. 13-15, Trinitas will be putting on Thornton Wilder’s play, “Our Town,” at the Servite theater.
The 1938 play, which American playwright Edward Albee once described as being “the greatest American play ever written,” poses many questions about the joys and trials of life, all while taking place in a sleepy New Hampshire town.
There are so many Trinitas students who are eager to see all of their friends in the audience during the performances. Amanda Fernández ‘27 is the assistant stage manager for “Our Town,” and is looking forward to this weekend to debut the show that she has been working so hard on. “I’m so excited for ‘Our Town’ because, while the story is very simple, it is a wake-up call in a sense to why life is so important. The cast and crew have worked very hard, and the work has paid off tremendously,” Fernández says, “I’m also very excited to be an assistant stage manager because I’ve always been an actor, and being in a different part of theatre is very eye-opening and everything is so different.” It must be great to experience theatre from two different perspectives, like Fernández does.
Elvyra Aguilar ‘27 is on the lighting crew for “Our Town,” and is excited for the audience to learn all about the play. “People should come to see ‘Our Town’ because it is a play about the beauties and hardships of everyday life, and they should be excited to see the reality of simple life!” It sounds like it will be a special show that all high school students can both learn something from as well as relate to.

Tickets for “Our Town” are on sale now, and there will be four show-times available: Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
Consider seeing the show and supporting the Trinitas Royals and Friars! Who knows, you might come out of the play a whole new person: with a newfound love for theatre and with a new desire to live in a small town.
