Do you have a favorite season? Well, for many of our Royals, fall is theirs; for others, it is very much not. Fall is arguably the best season, due to the leaves changing colors (even though we live in Southern California), the amazing movies and cozy weather; although, the pumpkin flavored drinks and strong smells bring it down a few notches in my ranking. So, let’s hear what our Royals ranking of fall items are.
When one thinks about fall, the first thing that comes to mind tends to be the Starbucks drinks. Mrs. Vasquez ‘17 shared: “My favorite fall item is a pumpkin spiced latte.” Ava Ibarra ‘26 agrees by stating: “My fav fall item is definitely the pumpkin cream cheese muffin from Starbucks, but their drinks are also really good!”
I would have to put the Starbucks fall drinks at the bottom of my list. Moving on, another one of my fall nays would be the extremely strong scented candles. They might smell good in the store, but the second you get come and light the candle, the entire room is filled with pumpkin scented wet blanket. This scent entraps my entire house in under five seconds and does not go away for five years.

Starbucks is a fan favorite, but it is definitely not for everyone. Bella Vallejo ’26 explained, “One: fall
is bad because it is another version of summer; it’s just not a real thing. Two: fall is bad because the drinks stink and make my stomach hurt.” Well, that sure is an opinion, and I can’t say I do not agree.
Well, it looks like Bella and I are on the same page with our fall rankings.
Overall, the vibes during fall are amazing, but as stated in some Royals’ opinions, the season can be controversial. The iced apple crisp macchiato was the best thing that happened to Starbucks, and they decided to take it away this year for the first few weeks of fall drinks, arguably ruining my start to fall. If someone saw me walking through the halls this week, they would think I enjoy fall a lot more due to my strikingly fall-leaf colored spray tan; however, my fall will not be complete until I see those leaves change.
