Established in 1965, Rosary Academy is a Catholic college preparatory high school for all girls. Rosary focuses on making students well-rounded in academics, extracurriculars, and most importantly faith. Rosary Academy strives to make exceptional, capable, and intelligent women who live out our charism, “to serve the dear neighbor without distinction”.
Founded in 1958, Rosary’s brother school, Servite High School, is an all-boys Catholic college preparatory high school. Servite specializes in forming their students to be fit adults by focusing in academics, extracurriculars, and, of course, faith. Servite High School aspires to make excellent, strong, and knowledgeable students who live out their charism, “orders of Friars, Servants of Mary”.
Servite and Rosary have been brother sister schools ever since Rosary came to be. Due to this relationship, Rosary and Servite have made such a positive impression on many families that they have established legacies at both schools. Three of these families include: the LeVecke family, the Vallejo family, and the Roman family. We asked Brigid LeVecke ’26, Bella Vallejo ’26, Cynthia Wade-Roman ’96 some questions about their Servite Rosary legacy and here is what they have to say.
Who in your family went to Rosary and Servite?
Cynthia: I went to Rosary and my husband went to Servite. My daughter is a current student at Rosary and my youngest is a future Royal. My sister-in-law went to Rosary and so did my daughters’ godmother.
Bella: Both of my mom’s parents went to Rosary and Servite. My mom and dad did, as well as my aunts and uncles, so basically my whole immediate family (9), and if you count my parents’ cousins and aunts and uncles as well, my extended family (27). And currently, my brother and I go to Rosary and Servite.
Brigid: From my immediate family, both my parents went. They dated their junior year, all through college, and got married. My grandpa on my dad’s side went to Servite; he’s the one who started it all. He sent my aunts to Rosary and obviously my dad to Servite. My grandma on my mom’s side went to Rosary as well, and she sent my mom and my aunt to Rosary and she put my two uncles into Servite. Then a lot more extended family went as well. So, I’m the 24th girl in my family to go to Rosary.
How has the Servite and Rosary experience changed the course of your family’s lives?
Cynthia: Servite and Rosary created a tight student bond while attending and continued on through college and into adulthood. My Rosary sisters were my bridesmaids, godmothers to my children; they helped me take care of myself and uplift me during the hardest stage of my life and with my cancer diagnosis, and now my daughter who goes to Rosary gets to create bonds, some with legacy families we grew up with. It is something I will always get to share with my daughters.
Bella: I think the Rosary Servite experience has changed my family’s life because it brings us so close together. The football games are like a big family reunion. The experience has definitely shaped the meaning of family and one of the reasons my family has such a close relationship because of the values of family Rosary and Servite installed in our lives.
Brigid: It has changed the course of my family’s life in so many ways: we eat, sleep, and breathe Rosary and Servite. We are always talking about how they are such great schools and how grateful we all are to be able to attend these schools.
Will the future generations of your family attend Rosary and Servite?
Cynthia: Yes, my oldest daughter is currently attending Rosary and my youngest daughter is a future Royal.
Bella: 100% of future generations will be attending Rosary and Servite.
Brigid: I believe our future generations will most likely go to Rosary and Servite. We have such a big legacy at both of these schools and I sure would love to make my children in the future go to either Servite or Rosary. We truly all have so much love for these schools.
As you can see, the Rosary and Servite experience has change the course of many lives. All students who attend either Rosary or Servite are truly blessed to have amazing opportunities provided to them.
