As the fall season begins, so does the Royal golf season! This year, there have been so many changes to the team. Let’s take a look at what the Royal golfers have been up to.
This season, the golf team grew exponentially. The team has 23 players with seven on varsity and 16 on JV. Junior Alayna Votino says, “I initially joined because I like to play with my grandpa. But, I ended up loving it because all of my teammates are super fun!”
Since the team has also joined the Pacific Coast Conference, they have very busy schedules. Their practices are on Mondays, Wednesdays and occasionally Fridays. Both JV and Varsity practice on the same days.
At practice, the girls do a range of drills. They practice on the putting green and work their driving skills at the driving range we have here on campus.
The JV team plays its home games at Birch Hills, with matches every Tuesday and Thursday. The varsity team plays its home games at Western Hills.
This Thursday, Varsity has another match against Valley Christian at Western Hills at 3:30. Be sure to head out and support our golf team this season!
