Over the past month, Mr. Bevins’ Honors English II classes have been tirelessly working on a major assignment. Casually dubbed “The Speech Project,” this assessment requires each class member to seriously reflect on their experiences at Rosary and provide a single truth to share with their classmates. Serving as a benchmark for the end of the year and marking the turning point where the current sophomores transition to upperclasswomen, these truths will be a testament to how far the Class of 2026 has come.
Sophomore Emma Muse, a proud member of third period Honors English II, is looking forward to sharing her speech project with her classmates: “I wrote about the importance of friendship and making strong connections with people. I think it’s an important truth because I feel as if friendship is a big part of growing up in high school, and so it’s really important to focus on the fact that genuine relationships with other people can really lift us up.”

Mikayla Hayward ‘26 spent some time strolling through memory lane to gather photos and videos for her project theme of staying in the moment: “I’m really excited to share this project with my classmates because I think my truth is such an important message as we continue with high school. And I’m excited to see how they’ll react to the funny baby photos I included!”
And, finally, sophomore Tahlia Jain ‘26 shares why she thinks this project is so important for the end of the year: “It’s definitely been a little bit sad to reflect on everything that has happened to me at Rosary so far; time has gone by so fast, and the project has really forced me to think about the lessons I’ve learned in the past two years. I’ve enjoyed looking back at old pictures and videos to find clips for my movie, and I’m excited to see everyone else’s projects, too!”
We’re so excited to hear how these project presentations turn out in the coming weeks, and we are so proud of our sophomores for sharing their awesome truths!
