This past weekend, Rosary Water Polo took home first place in the West High Girls Varsity Warrior Classic tournament. Going 4-0 throughout the two days, the Royals fought hard for their place on the podium!
Junior Maya Sarabia describes how she felt after winning the plaque: “I felt great! We’ve been practicing hard and it paid off during the tournament. Our teamwork and communication really benefited us throughout the games.” The team has been practicing nonstop since summer, and all the work they have been putting in has led them to many victories already this season, with the team going 3-1 at the tournament prior to West High tournament.
The girls also talked about their mindset through each game that weekend. Avery Rabago ‘25 says, “ We have never won all of our games at a tournament before, so our mindset was definitely optimistic and determined to win.” Senior Spencer Thiemann also describes a highlight from the games: “My highlight from the tournament was the team scoring 10 goals in the first quarter which was a good way to set us apart and gain an early lead.”
After this past tournament, the Rosary Water Polo team has moved up to the number one seat in the Division 4 ranking. Let’s go Royals!
