Rosary’s Varsity Soccer team has made it to CIF Playoffs! Since the varsity soccer team has not made playoffs since 2020, they are eager to win a CIF championship.
This season, the soccer team was one win away from getting third place in Trinity League, but fell a little short with a 0-0 tie at an away game against JSerra. Their overall record for the season was 15 wins, 5 ties, and 3 loses.
The Royals battled during their long season and it paid off, giving them a wild card straight to the CIF playoffs. Jazzlyn Sandoval ’25 says, “I’m glad we were able to get a shot at CIF this year. I really want us to succeed, especially for the seniors.”
The team is feeling excited and ready to face whatever battles comes their way. They have so much support on and off the field and want to win it all for their senior captain Leah Gimenez, who sadly tore her ACL during the season.
The soccer team was on the road for their first CIF playoff game yesterday aginst Long Beach Poly. They came out with a 1-0 win with a goal from sophomore Amaya Faison. She says, “I am so proud of our team and all our hard work, I can’t wait for our next game!”
Rosary plays Ayala High School Saturday Feb. 10th at Fullerton College! Come out and support the Royals for their second round of CIF at their home field.
