It’s officially time for the most creative weekend of the year—Halloween! This weekend, our Royals are able to show off their creative abilities by wearing the costumes they have worked so hard on (or whatever they could find at the last minute). If you don’t like dressing up, carving pumpkins and watching scary movies is another way you can celebrate this holiday. Before we get into what our Royals are wearing this year, let’s not forget the most important part: what our teachers will be dressed up as. So, don’t forget to keep an eye out for your personal favorite costume. I think the Science Department might be coming up with something good.
Senior Addison Gutierrez ’26 and I are going as a duo costume. We have had this planned for quite a while and the pent-up excitement has left Addi thrilled: “I’m very excited to be ‘Dumb and Dumber’ with Harper Clark ’26 because we have put so much thought into it and it’s one of my favorite movies. Plus, we will look great.” I sure hope we look great, but I can agree in saying that it is definitely one of my top three movies.

Everyone has been raving about the new season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” Kaitlin Lawrence ’28 and Alexis Perez ’27 took their love for the show to the next level and dressed up as their favorite characters. Let’s hear how they came up with the idea: “I would say that we came up with the idea because of their physical features, as we both look like them in a way. We were very invested in the TV show, so we thought it would be funny to bring their characters to life. I am very excited to dress up as them because we got to be creative with the outfits and express a new persona.” This is truly an original idea, and I am ecstatic to see it come to life.
Frankie Stuart ’29 adds, “This Halloween, my friends and I are going as characters from ‘Winnie the Pooh,’ I will be Tigger! I’m so excited for my first Halloween here at Rosary with my friends!” Another great costume idea from one of our lovely Royals.
Now, it’s time to reminisce on some of our alumni costumes. Ashley Bernath ’25 explained how her friends and her came up with their “Harry Potter” costume last year: “We chose the costume because we were all very into ‘Harry Potter’ at the same time and thought that it would be funny, creative and original. We figured that everyone would know who we dressed up as, although a few people did mistake us for the real actors.” Not to mention, Alyssa McCreary ’25 was asked to play Voldemort in a Literature into Film class play later in the year; she truly takes that role seriously.
Overall, it seems like our Royals are going to win best dressed! What are you planning on dressing up as this year? Let me know in the comments. Don’t forget to leave candy outside your door, and DO NOT forget to stay safe and spooky.
