Next Friday, Oct. 31, Rosary will be hosting a leadership day in the LEC from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This day will be run by TACSC (The Association of Catholic Student Councils) and is open to any Rosary and Servite students. This seminar is the perfect way to build your leadership skills and embrace team-building skills. It can also be a great way to improve your skills if you plan on being a future Red and Gold captain. There is a $25 charge to attend, which can be paid to Ms. La Bonte’s office by Monday, Oct. 27.
I recently had the opportunity to attend one of TACSC events over the summer with my friends, and it truly was an awesome experience. I participated in an overnight camp at LMU and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the camp. At TACSC, all of the students were separated into different team colors, and we hung out with our teams all week by participating in activities such as playing games, singing and even eating meals together.

The TACSC program not only builds leaders, but it also builds followers of Christ. Over the weekend, we prayed all the time, and we attended Mass on the last day of camp. At the end of the day, we would have a prayer talk or activity, and it was a nice contrast to the craziness of games and activities throughout the day. TACSC helped me become a better leader by pushing me out of my comfort zone and helping me be comfortable meeting new people. It taught me important lessons on how to act as a leader, not by being controlling, but by being strong and confident in what I say and do.
When asked about her experience at TACSC, sophomore Autry Lee shared, “TACSC helps kids with their leadership skills because even though you have group leaders, you are essentially in charge of everything that you and your group do. I recommend TACSC to other people because it helped me become more social and step out of my comfort zone.” This is so true! TACSC is a great learning experience for all young leaders.
Servite student JP Cantos ’28 explains what he thinks is special about TACSC’s program: “TACSC helps students become better leaders by surrounding them with people from different leadership roles. TACSC creates a friendly environment open to all forms of leaders.”

This truly is a fun and empowering experience for all genders, ages and grades. If you have the opportunity to attend a TACSC seminar, I definitely recommend that you go. If you’re planning on going Oct. 31, don’t forget to turn your money into Ms. La Bonte’s office by Oct. 27!
