Do you ever look at your teachers and wonder, “huh, what Disneyland ride would they ride?” Well, you probably haven’t, but either way, this article is for you. Disneyland, a major theme park run by a famous two-foot mouse, is extremely popular among our Rosary Royals. But how about the teachers: are they Disney deniers or secret Disney adults that have a vault full of collector pins and ears? Regardless, we asked some of our teachers what ride they best see themselves as and got some students’ opinions too.
Our first victim (I mean teacher), Dr. Parmar, was very eager to share his ride persona when he responded to our million-dollar question: “Jungle Cruise! In a classroom filled with life and curiosities, I guide students to new ideas, broaden their horizons, and ensure they don’t get eaten by hippos.” As a science teacher, I would find this quite fitting for Dr. Parmar; he has all the aspects of the perfect jungle cruiser. He even dresses the part with his signature cream safari hat. Talk about manifesting. Many of his students, especially in his third-period AP Environmental Science class, agree thinking his witty jokes and sarcastic demeanor would be a perfect addition for the ride. Watch out, Disney, a new tour guide is coming your way.
Next on the list is one of the sweetest teachers on campus, Religion Teacher Mrs. D’Alba. When asked what ride she embodies, she answered, “I would be the Storybook cruise. The ride is a leisure ride through quiet canals where you see miniature villages from Disney stories. I enjoy a quiet pace riding on the water, looking at adorable buildings.” Sure, sounds relaxing to me. Although a great ride, one of her students, senior Aurora Ortuno, had another area of the park in mind as she shares, “I think Mrs. D’Alba would be Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad in Toontown. It’s full of bright colors and fun adventures, it’s a great place to be, just like her classroom!” I could not agree more. I especially think she would like that part of the ride where Daisy teaches ballet and the cha-cha.

Math Department Chair Mrs. Davidson is a big amusement park fan. After long consideration, Mrs. Davidson landed on Toy Story Mania. She explains, “As a parent and a teacher, there is always one problem or another that I am trying to shoot down. It also appeals to my competitive side as I love to win!” Well said, Mrs. Davidson; however, you do have a challenger. Junior Molly Burke chimes in, “I think I could beat Mrs. Davidson in Toy Story Mania, I have great aim and will bring it”. Quite the statement, Molly. Could this be a future journalism article in the making?
It is great to see how different teachers can compare when it comes to something as simple as Disneyland rides. I do think we can all agree that, like all rides at Disneyland, our teachers’ unique traits and personalities make Rosary such an amazing place. And hey, maybe the next time you are at Disneyland on the Jungle Cruise or in Toontown, this will be a great icebreaker for waiting in an hour-long line: what other rides would Rosary teachers be?
