It’s officially time for our first, and arguably most high energy, rally of the year: the fall sports rally. This rally includes cross country, volleyball, golf, flag football and tennis. The returning Royals came into this rally with enthusiasm, hoping to win the spirit stick; the freshmen came into it with wandering minds and confusion as to why everyone was screaming for a cardboard stick with glitter wrapped around it.
To start, the dance and cheer team showed off their amazing skills with a quick performance to bring the energy up. Senior Anayra Reynoso shared: “Dancing was so fun! I had a blast twisting, turning, and sharing all our hard work to everyone. It was so much fun to let loose and dance with my sisters.” They definitely hyped up our Royals for what was to come next.
Every team has a short video to show off their hard work and skills. Volleyball player Savannah Mostero ’26 said, “At the rally, I had a blast cheering the Rosary cheers with my friends and watching the games being played. Since it was a sports rally, I got to go up and watch my team’s video. I had a blast.” The volleyball video this year was one of the best yet and their games are even better.

Flag football, another sought-after sport at Rosary, made senior Belle Vallejo a little teary-eyed during the rally. She explained, “I loved getting to film our videos with my fellow seniors for the rally. It’s definitely bittersweet being our last time doing a rally video with my teammates.” If you make it to the next flag football game, don’t forget to bring Belle a pack of tissues.

It would not be a Rosary event without a little competition, so we played some games, including a fan favorite: the head, shoulders, knees and ball game. Emi Cantos ’28 shared “Playing games was so fun and I was so excited to represent my class at the first rally. It really brought out my competitive side and I got pretty intense.” Wow! Going against Emi seems a little scary.
The first rally was so much fun. Don’t forget to come out and support our teams this fall.
