The Kathleen “Kay” Lee Memorial Athletic Fee Scholarship Fund application is now available for all current student-athletes at Rosary. This scholarship is dedicated to Kay Lee, who worked as an athletics assistant and had two daughters who graduated from Rosary. This scholarship was made to honor her legacy at Rosary.
Current freshmen, sophomores, and junior student-athletes are eligible to submit applications for this scholarship. All applications must be completed and submitted to Mr. Tice in the main office by May 30. Each application will be reviewed, and the recipient will be announced during the Wall of Fame ceremony on August 9, 2025.
This scholarship honors Kay Lee’s passion for Rosary athletics and consistent pursuit of success. Her husband, Larry Lee, family friend Brian Pocock, and children established the Kay Lee Memorial Scholarship to honor her memory and continue her legacy. Mrs. Pontius ‘03 encourages students to apply by saying, “Applying for the Kay Lee Memorial Athletic Fees Scholarship is a great opportunity for our student athletes to receive support with their athletic journey at Rosary.” This scholarship offers a great way to achieve excellence and success in Kay Lee’s honor.
Mrs. Pontius adds, “Kay Lee was a loyal supporter and believed in our student athletes’ ability to achieve greatness both as athletes and young women. This memorial scholarship for athletic fees is a special way to honor Kay Lee and the legacy she has left in our community.” This scholarship enables students to excel in athletics while enrolled in the Rosary curriculum, reflecting the success that Kay Lee valued in Royals.

The inaugural recipient last year, Kaiya Watties ‘27, felt honored to receive this scholarship. Kaiya shared, “The Kay Lee Scholarship helped me so much at Rosary by giving me the opportunity to play my sport.” Her achievement of this scholarship was carried out through the Rosary’s Basketball season, where they competed in the CIF finals and State Championship tournaments. Rosary’s basketball team had a remarkable season, and through the honor of Kay Lee, the team achieved several significant milestones. Kaiya expressed her gratitude for being awarded the Kay Lee Scholarship, stating, “Earning the Kay Lee Scholarship meant so much to me and my family, and I am truly honored to be the inaugural recipient.” Kay Lee continues to inspire many students and contribute to the success of Rosary athletics.
Royals, make sure to submit applications by May 30 to Mr. Tice to be considered. This scholarship is special to many and honors the life of Kay Lee. Kay Lee’s legacy is cemented in Rosary history and will be lived out for future years through different student athletes. Carrying out her goals and achieving success is just the start, and it marks the many things that are possible for Rosary student-athletes!
