Welcome back from break, Royals! As we finish off the school year, we continue to be called to serve as disciples of Christ, serving the dear neighbor without distinction. Although there are many ways our Royals can follow in Christ’s footsteps, there is one particular option that would help so many people with even the smallest donation. Wells of Life is a non-profit, faith-based organization that has partnered with Rosary Academy in the past to create new wells that provide Ugandans with clean water.
You might remember the two free-dress days that took place before we went off to enjoy our spring break, and if you participated in those opportunities, your money actually helped fund a new water well being built in Uganda. The overall goal is to make $4,000, and with everyone contributing, Rosary will be able to help give access to safe and sanitized water to so many people.
Among the many other students who have donated generously, sophomore Elizabeth Braatz and her family took part in supporting this organization. When asked why they donated, they responded, “Helping others is one of the biggest lessons we have learned from our heavenly father. So, when we are presented with the opportunity to share what we have with those who are less fortunate, it feels good to know that so many generations and families will be able to thrive through something we have been able to participate in.”

Mrs. Kearns ’78, the director of campus ministry, shared some information about this wonderful non-profit when she stated, “Rosary Academy first started to work with the Wells of Life organization around eight years ago with Servite. One of our Rosary alumnae parents is on the board of directors for this program, and this is what helped introduce and further inspire us to connect with the wonderful work they do. So far, we have provided water for over 1,000 people and have established a well and a half within the past year. The participation of our Royal families is so greatly appreciated and allows us to live out our charism which makes this so special.”
This service opportunity is a great way for Royals and their families and friends to grow closer to Jesus and help people around the world. Even the smallest donation can go a long way and help so many mothers, fathers, children and animals. Below is the link to the donation form; make sure to give a little and spread some happiness today.
