Did you know that Rosary is turning 60 in September? With such a big milestone coming up, celebrations are in order. On September 13, Rosary will recognize its birthday with the Celebrating 60 Gala at the JW Marriott in Anaheim. Alumnae, Rosary families, current students and friends of Rosary are all invited. To learn more about the event or become a sponsor, head to the Rosary website.
Head of School, Dr. Pautsch, shares about the importance of the event, “Celebrating our 60th anniversary is so important because it marks a major milestone—60 years of tradition, transformation and excellence. It’s more than just a celebration; it’s a moment to honor the legacy of the past, celebrate the strength of the present and invest in the future of the school community.”
The gala will also honor some special women who were integral to Rosary’s success. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award which “recognizes someone whose long-term dedication, leadership and contributions have shaped Rosary’s mission and success over many years. It honors a legacy of service, excellence and commitment to the school,” according to Dr. Pautsch. In addition, alumnae Cathie Lentz Fryer ’76 and Katie Webb Brundige ’03 will be awarded the Legacy and Serving the Dear Neighbor Awards, respectively.
The Legacy Award honors a graduate or family whose influence at Rosary is generational and important to carrying on the Royal spirit for generations to come. The Serving the Dear Neighbor Award goes to someone who is “rooted in the charism and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph, this award recognizes someone who lives out the call to serve others with compassion, humility and love. This person truly is the hands and feet of Christ on earth. It celebrates those who make a difference in their communities and embody Rosary’s values beyond campus,” from Dr. Pautsch’s perspective.
Rosary is incredibly excited to celebrate its founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, as the school looks forward to a brighter future. In addition, honoring alumnae is also exceedingly important. Cathie Lentz Fryer, who is the president of CTA Travel, according to the OC Catholic, said that Rosary helped shape who she is, develop the skills she uses today and empower her. Rosary’s Serving the Dear Neighbor Award recipient, Katie Webb Brundige, is the co-founder of Intertwined Inc. and RAD Camp. In the same OC Catholic article, she spoke on how Rosary developed her leadership skills and laid the foundations for her future career.

Alumnae and Annual Fund Manager, Mrs. Pontius ‘03, adds, “All of our honorees are living examples of the legacy of Rosary, as our founders and as active alumnae who are giving back to the greater community through their service and compassion for others. Our Royal Gala will be the perfect evening to celebrate the past, present and future of Rosary!”
The gala is set to be an event to remember! As Rosary reflects on it’s past, this celebration also looks towards the future. Dr. Pautsch speaks on what she expects for Rosary’s next 60 years, “I look forward to Rosary continuing to be a trailblazer in all-girls Catholic education, forming generations of compassionate, courageous and faith-filled women who will make a powerful impact on the world. The best is yet to come!”
