Ignite the Night Festival of the Arts is today, Friday, May 2. This festival celebrates the work of the arts classes at Rosary, showcasing many pieces on display and performances in the Karcher Center. The event will begin with the art galleries opening at 6 p.m. and performances in the Karcher Center beginning at 7 p.m.. Come support your peers who have been working hard this year to view the pieces they are most proud of!
One of the teachers whose class work will be displayed is Mrs. Duque, who teaches Photography and Graphic Design courses. Mrs. Duque tells us that, “The Festival of the Arts features artwork from the Photography, Graphic Design, Fundamentals of Art, Painting and Drawing, AP Studio Art, and Animation classes. It also showcases outstanding performances from the choir, orchestra, actors, and composers in the music classes.” She also shares what she appreciates most about the Festival, Mrs. Duque says, “What I love most about the Festival is that it gives our students the opportunity to share their creative voices with the entire Rosary community, family and friends. I am incredibly proud of all their hard work!”
Madison Garza ‘28, a student taking Graphic Design, shared her excitement for the festival with me. She says, “I am so excited and had a great time setting up the festival and seeing everyone’s hard work being displayed together.” The students from various classes helped set up displays to showcase their work for the festival. This festival truly is a great display of the creative perspectives and ideas from the Rosary community.

The Festival of the Arts benefits both artists and audiences, providing students with a unique opportunity to showcase their work to a large audience. For viewers, it exposes them to digital, 3-D, performance and more styles of art. Normally, we just think of paintings or drawings, but through shows like the Festival, it inspires more students to create their own pieces. Do not forget to stop by the Karcher Center tonight to support and maybe find inspiration for your own art!
