Hi Royals! On Saturday, March 29, sophomores and juniors from Servite and Rosary have the opportunity to take part in mock SAT or ACT exams. The counseling departments from both schools are encouraging students to participate in the testing due to the many benefits that will come after taking these assessments. Building test endurance, finding the best fit and receiving personalized reports highlighting strengths and potential areas of improvement are some of the valuable outcomes that can help our Royals and Friars cultivate the skills they need for the future.
For those who are attending, a $20 fee is required in order to participate, and you must have registered by this past Wednesday. All fees collected will be donated to Rosary and Servite’s counseling departments as a thank you for all the hard work they do for us students.
Materials such as student IDs, pencils, erasers and calculators are necessities that each person should bring with them to the test. However, if you are taking the SAT exam, it is required that you bring a laptop or iPad due to the test being on an online format.

One of Rosary’s academic counselors, Mrs. Lee, shared why this opportunity is so critical for students, stating, “Taking these mock exams are important because students are given the opportunity to practice and familiarize themselves with these practice tests. The biggest take away from this experience is being able to see the different kind of questions that are asked and how well students perform during the timed format.”
Kayleen Dee is a Rosary sophomore who is going to take one of the exams this weekend. She shared her input when saying, “I think it’s important to take the mock SAT or ACT because it gives you an idea of what the real exams will look like and what to expect. It prepares you to succeed and to show colleges what you are capable of!”
In general, this weekend is a great way to help navigate your future test-taking. It can help you in a number of ways and allow you the time you need in order to achieve your best score on the real exams. Plus, you might surprise yourself and receive a better score than you thought you would!
