Rosary Academy’s swim team has been on a roll since starting season. Their first swim meet was against El Modena on Feb. 26 at Servite. They’ve also had swim meets against other schools, including March 12 against Irvine. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors all competed in their respective events.
Each swim meet allows the girls to grow closer to each other as a team. Sophomore Destiny Perez shared, “The swim team is a big family who pushes each other to do their best and encourages us to go beyond our comfort zone.” As one of the only sports where Rosary competes with Servite, this leads to many bonds between teammates being formed.

Both Rosary and Servite athletes have high hopes and determination for this season. The swim team is led by Coach Harita and their amazing team captains. Many talented players from Rosary’s amazing water polo team have joined swim and they’re ready to lead the team into victory. Rosary’s talented swim team is known for its many amazing alumni and its many awards. With this year being our first in a new league, Royals are hoping to scoop up many more awards and even make it to CIF. Junior Lauren Marvray stated, “Even though we are in a new league this season, nothing has changed, and the goal is still the same. We hope to make CIF this year and compete at our full potential.”
Our Royals have been working, and all of their hard work is finally able to be shown. With a good mixture of returning swimmers and new swimmers, the team is eager to make a huge splash this 2025 season and represent Rosary’s athletic talent.
The next swim meet will be March 26, and it will be against Portola. Make sure to show up and support your fellow Royals as they compete!
