As the spring season begins to bloom, Rosary Lacrosse is ready to hit the field! With a brand-new season ahead, the team has spent months preparing and fine-tuning their skills to compete at their tournament this Saturday. For many, this year represents an exciting opportunity to show off their skills, whether this is their first or last season. As is the case with all Rosary sports, it is the lacrosse team’s first season in their new league, the Pacific Coast Conference.
Head Coach Ms. Brinegar ‘16 and Assistant Coaches Ms. Williams and Ms. Schmitt ’19 have all done their best to make this season the best one yet. They started meeting in October for offseason training in order to prepare for the spring. Since Rosary returned from Christmas Break in January, the girls have worked hard to perfect their skills with their rigorous Monday through Friday practice schedule.
On her four years with the team, senior Marissa Valencia said, “Being on lacrosse since my freshman year will always be something I remember from Rosary, especially making it to playoffs for the first time in school history. I always love bonding with the team year after year and being able to play the sport I love while representing Rosary.” Team bonding is an essential part of the Rosary Lacrosse Team’s culture.

Senior Kayla Trevino adds, “I love lacrosse because my teammates radiate the most amazing energy, and I can always count on them to work hard and make my days better.” The team has great chemistry with one another, which helps guide them through different plays, and they are determined to make it to the playoffs again.
With all this being said, it is crucial we go out and support our fellow Royals! Their next home game is next Tuesday, March 4 at 3:30 against Segerstrom High School. They begin league play against University High School on March 21!
