This past Thursday, Royals participated in a school-wide potluck to celebrate the upcoming Red & Gold production. All students were expected to bring something for their peers to enjoy during lunchtime.
Each category was assigned an item to bring for each color, here were the assignments:
Beverages: Stage Tech, House Managers and Drama
Dessert: Media, Publicity and Historian
Salad/sides: Choral, Script and Props
Main Meal: Dance and Drill
Utensils/cups, plates and napkins: Fashion, Producers and Co-Producers
At the end of Flex, White Team members dismissed each category to get their food. There was a plethora of food at this year’s potluck. Fruit, salad, pizza, pasta and chicken were popular items brought to the table. As for dessert, there were donuts, cookies, cupcakes and more.
Royals had some highlights to share from the large potluck. Senior Jillian DeVega from Gold team said, “My favorite foods were the Chick-fil-a and all the other chicken nuggets.” Junior Matilda Simmons, also on Gold team, added, “I really enjoyed all the Taco Bell, brownies and chips people brought. It really brought each team together because we all love food.”

Once everyone got their food, we were allowed seconds. Teachers were also called down to enjoy the dishes all the students brought.
This potluck was a great opportunity for students to come together and work as a team. Just like in each of our shows, every category has an important role and something special to bring.
It is safe to say that this Red & Gold potluck was a success. As Red & Gold is less than two weeks away, girls cannot wait for their show’s debut, and we are all looking forward to supporting our friends on opposite teams and seeing each other shine on stage.
