There is nothing like a long weekend to take a break from school and relax with family and friends. However, this long weekend is particularly special as it falls on the week of Valentine’s Day. You can finally have the Galentines that you have been planning for weeks!
In light of the upcoming long weekend, I interviewed Danielle Thiemann ‘28, Lexie Curtis ‘27, Phia Fletchall ‘26, and Stacy Stroud ‘25 on their exciting plans.
Senior Stacy Stroud has a big weekend ahead of her: “This weekend I plan to hang out with my friends and have a Galentines, in addition to celebrating my mom for her birthday. She wants to spend the day at the beach, but I would imagine it would be very chilly, so we will see. I am looking forward to having time to spend with my family and friends over this long weekend!”
Sophomore Lexie Curtis also has a lot to do this weekend: “This weekend, my sister gets in town from Mississippi, so on Friday her boyfriend and I are road-tripping to get dinner and pick her up from LAX together (he just wanted a carpool lane). Then on Saturday, a bunch of girls from my friend group are going down to our friend’s house in San Diego for a little Galentines Vacay! On the first night, we are staying in, wearing cute PJ sets and having a girl’s night. The second night we are planning to go out into the town, get dinner and take adorable photos. We will most likely stop for Dutch Bros on the way down and up there to top off the weekend trip.”
Freshman Danielle Thiemann has a small but relaxing weekend: “This weekend I will be with my friends and family. I enjoy playing pickleball and going to BJ’s after with my friends. On Monday, I will be celebrating my fifteenth birthday with my family.
Lastly, junior Phia Fletchall has a very lovely weekend ahead of her: “This weekend I am going to be spending time with both my family and friends. For Valentine’s Day, my cousins and I are getting together for a girls’ movie night. Then on Sunday and Monday, the dance team has USA nationals. This is how I will be spending my three-day weekend!”
