Red and Gold doesn’t just take two teams. The White Team has also been working hard to keep things organized and on track! The White Team is always comprised of six Royals: executive president, executive treasurer, two social chairs, a senior representative and a junior representative. Marissa Valencia ’25, Malia Sims ’25, Sophia Aquino ’25, Jolie Gonzalez ’25, Nikki Green ’25 and Gianna Sorensen ’26 are this year’s White Sailors! Keep reading to learn more about some of our amazing White Sailors.
Q: Do you miss being on the Red or Gold Teams, or do you like being on White Team more?
Sophia: I love being on White Team so much and seeing the excitement brewing amongst both teams. While I do miss being a part of Red and Gold Finale and bonding with the girls on my drills, I enjoy watching the behind the scenes and seeing each of the shows come together like a puzzle.
Gianna: I absolutely love being on White Team because I am able to grow closer with the seniors on White Team and be able to step up in my leadership role, especially during a super important time to the Rosary community.
Malia: I love being on White Team! It is so much fun to see and know everything! I’ll definitely miss bonding with the girls on my team in the pit, but I am so excited to not have to worry about remembering any choreography or worrying about a stunt during the whole performance weekend. We also don’t have to worry about our costumes or anything because we get to wear gorgeous black dresses all weekend!
Q: What has been your favorite part of being on White Team so far?
Sophia: My favorite part about being on White Team has been bonding with the girls and Ms. La Bonte as we play music and eat snacks while hard at work.
Malia: My favorite part about being on White Team is being able to see everyone grow and the shows blossom from December to now. We have been imagining these shows since October when we collected everyone’s categories paper to film our captains’ video, and now seeing the captains take all their ideas and turn them into reality is so special. I love Red and Gold so much, so seeing all the joy it brings to the Red Racers and the Gold Pilots truly makes us Sailors so happy! We also get to hang out with Ms. La Bonte every day and build friendships with each other and all our amazing captains!

Gianna: My favorite part about being on White Team is seeing both shows come together in completely different ways and being able to be on the behind-the-scenes aspect of Red and Gold!
Q: What do you do at Flex while everyone practices? Do you each have your own job?
Sophia: We typically have various tasks that we split amongst ourselves. We are constantly taking pictures for the Instagram and the slideshow and ensuring everyone’s categories are going smoothly.
Malia: During Flex, we do multiple things. Since I am Executive Treasurer, sometimes I am working on collecting the receipts from Sami DiCrisi ’26 and Michaela Watson ’26 to let them know how much money they have left in their budget. Other times, we are writing thank-you notes to all the parent volunteers, helping supervise auditions, taking pictures or videos of all the categories and helping with attendance!
Marissa: Personally, I’m a “jack of all trades” type of member. I’ll walk around checking in with captains, take pictures, occasionally tell dances and drills to smile and go full out and, of course, (as a former props captain) talk to some of the current props captains and offer my advice to them.
Gianna: My role during Flex is mainly attendance, and of course, my handy-dandy megaphone. When I need to get the word across to a dance or drill, even just for fun, I always have my megaphone!
Wow, it sounds like being on White Team is no easy task, but it seems to have so many great rewards too. Thanks White Team, for all that you do to make Red and Gold the amazing show it is!
