Two weeks ago, many Royals joined the dance world and were glued to their couches watching the UDA dance college nationals, AKA the dance Super Bowl. We were all blown away by Ohio State’s nun-chucks poms and LSU’s hip-hop with umbrellas.
What you may not have known is that our Rosary Dance Team competes on the same stages at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. This weekend, the dance team will compete in Orlando, Florida against the top teams around the country. This is another top dance event that you will not want to miss.
Our dancers have put in hours of work to into perfecting their dances. The hard work paid off this season with both varsity and JV having had amazing seasons so far. Back in June of 2024, when this dance season started, Rosary qualified for the UDA High School Nationals with their “Home Routine” at the UDA overnight camp in Palm Desert.
This past weekend at UDA regionals at Beckman High School, varsity placed first in both jazz and pom categories. JV placed first in pom.
The Rosary Dance Teams are so excited for nationals; a few members took a moment to express what this competition means to them. Freshman dancer Emma Ceilo said, “I cannot wait for my first UDA nationals. Everyone has hyped it up so much, so I can’t wait for my turn.” Varsity captain Ava Ibarra ‘26 shared her thoughts before traveling to nationals: “The team and I are so excited to hit the nationals floor in Orlando at ESPN Wide World of Sports. We have been working so hard for this moment and we are ready to put our best foot forward on the UDA stage.”
Good Luck to the Rosary Dance Teams; we are all cheering for you! Don’t miss out on all the dance action, you can watch all their dances on Varsity TV with your subscription. Look out for posts on the Rosary Dance Instagram for updates!
