On January 23, Rosary hosted club rush for the second semester, which featured new and current clubs. All clubs lined up in the Karcher Center with snacks to get people excited about their club; as students came in during lunch, they had the chance to talk with different club presidents and officers. Club rush happens at the beginning of every semester, but if you are still interested in joining a club, you should email the club president to know your options.
Each club is responsible for making a board that showcases the highlights of their club and draws new members in. When students come into the Karcher Center, they are met dozens of options, so each club tries their best to stand out. Many clubs offer snacks and food like cupcakes, cookies and pizza in exchange for becoming a part of their club. At the end of club rush, many clubs are filled with new members and can start their club meetings soon.
Second semester’s club rush welcomed many new clubs including the “Royal Surfriders Club.” This club works to clean and protect our local beaches in southern California. Addison Sciarra ‘26 is the vice president of the Royal Surfriders and was excited to introduce her club to Rosary. Addi said, “It was a thrill to be at club rush: I am so excited to clean the beach with my Rosary sisters.” Addi most enjoyed getting her club approved and looks forward to “awesome club sweatshirts.” If you did not get a chance to sign up for the Royal Surfriders Club, reach out to Maddie Nero ‘26!
One of the returning clubs from the first semester is the “Royal Paws Pantry.” Taryn Litfin ‘28, the vice president of this club, expressed, “we believe that it is an important value to donating to the animals in need in our community.” This club helps benefit animals in need and offer support to them. Taryn also said their club’s goal is “feeding homeless dogs, cats and any animals that might need help in shelters.” Their club president is Victoria Gonzalez ‘28 and they are still accepting donations of dry dog food for animals affected by the wildfires.
This semester’s club rush was a success and helped many Royals find new clubs to join as the year ends. During the year, Royals will be busy attending club meetings, and you may even see them wearing their club sweatshirts. If you missed out, it may not be too late to join a club. There will be another club rush in the fall for the new school year if you want to join or start your own club!
